Frequently asked questions.

Is a battery worth it?

When considering the addition of a battery storage system, the decision depends on several factors including your energy consumption patterns, grid reliability, and financial goals.

Benefits of Installing a Battery:

  • Energy independence: A battery allows you to store excess solar energy generated during the day for use during peak demand or nighttime, reducing reliance on the grid.

  • Cost savings: By using stored energy during high tariff periods, you can lower your electricity bills.

  • Backup power: Batteries provide a reliable power source during outages when fitted with a gateway or changeover switch, ensuring continuity for your home or business.

  • Environmental impact: Maximizing the use of your solar energy storage reduces reliance on fossil-fuel-based electricity.

Considerations Before Investing:

  • Upfront cost: Batteries represent a significant initial investment, though prices have been decreasing.

  • Lifespan and maintenance: Batteries have a finite lifespan and will require eventual replacement.

In summary, a battery can be worth it if you value energy resilience, want to reduce utility costs, and aim to maximize your solar investment. It is different for all customer there is no one size fits all. Our software will give you an estimate of this using the parameters that we have inputted. For commercial customer who usually have a very high usage the return i much quicker. For domestic properties an average of 8 years is what we tend to see.
